Happy Friday, Internet!
I’m in a bullet sort of mood today, so let’s have at itβ¦
* It is 59 degrees this morning. 59 degrees! Birds are chirping, the big piles of snow have turned into dirty slivers, and the breeze is fresh with the promise of spring. I have the windows wide open, and it feels more like early April than mid February.
* Yesterday, even though I had to wake up two hours earlier than normal to take my husband to work and his car to the repair shop, I was able to get the car looked at three hours before my appointment. Plus, it only (“only”) cost about $100!
* After picking up my husband from the hospital, we went on an impromptu date. It involved lobster enchiladas and a salt-rimmed margarita and it was lots of fun.
* I get to visit a brand new city in a brand new state. (We’ll be in the county seat of Albemarle County, FYI. And any restaurant recommendations would be welcome, if you’re familiar with the area!)
* Best of all, I get to spend 16+ hours in the car with my sweet husband this weekend! That’s more time than we’ve spent together all week (not counting sleeping). I can’t wait!
What’s good with you this lovely day?
P.S. Thank you for your questions on my last post! I will definitely use them for blog post ideas!!
aww I love road trips! Have a wonderful weekend and I hope the interview goes well for him! (wait, that is why you’re traveling, right?)
And I couldn’t get over the wonderful weather this morning, either! Sad that it will be going away after tonight π¦
Have fun on your road trip! π
I’m happy because I bought my concert tickets….AND it’s Friday!
Oh, I love a warm day.
Road trip!
That’s perfect for you guys… and that’s funny that you have to look forward to a road trip to spend time π
I can’t wait for the flight home that S and I have to take – because it’s 2 hours of him sitting right by my side and not moving where we can actually TALK! Seriously, counting down the days for that.
And I am BEYOND jealous of the weather you are experiencing… it’s 10 degrees here. And I have to move today. What’s up with that??
Have a great weekend π
Lobster enchiladas sound AMAZING. I don’t know if I am more jealous of that or of warm weather.
I haven’t been on a good long road trip with my husband in years! I love those kind of trips – they offer good quality time.
I love road trips so much! Hope you have a blast!
This sounds almost like my week! Except… my car only cost $400… but the quotes I got around town were all in the $900+ range… so $400 was good. π Our weather has been really nice today too. Feel like spring could be just around the corner!
Have a fun trip. Car rides with husbands are the best for good convos. The lobster enchiladas sound amazing!
Little road trips are always fun and a great way to spend some one on one time together.
And we are enjoying some amazing weather, but I am afraid the cold is going to come back. We got enough snow. I’m ready for spring.
My bestie and I had a Valentine’s Day date that involved lobster enchiladas. Mmmmmm! Hope you’re having fun on your road trip!
I don’t really blog anymore but I wanted to invite you and your followers who enjoy cooking or is looking for recipes to check out our url. It’s called surviving residency one bite at a time with friends- a positive and uplifting place to visit. it’s still in the young phase and i have tons of recipes to upload still but feel free to peek around.
Also looking to add some recipes from our fellow doctor wives to our site.
Oh my gosh, are you in the city I think you’re in??? If so, have a ton of fun. Get sandwiches with house dressing (do not skimp on the crack dressing!!) from Take it Away, eat froyo at Arch’s, have a casual, tasty meal at Michael’s Bistro and if you feel like fancyin’ it up, hit up C&O’s. Totally jealous!
I hope you had fun on your trip! Sometimes spending those moments together, even if you are locked up together in a car (technicalities, technicalities) are the best!
